Our Services
Lake Pointe Resource Center
Lake Pointe Resource Center offers a variety of programs to serve the multi-dimensional aspects of living on the spectrum. Our goal is to bring needed services to our community and bridge a gap towards resilience, hope and life long success for children and families affected by autism and related developmental conditions.
Lake Pointe Academy
Lake Pointe Academy is a specialized school program designed to provide support in primary & secondary academics with an emphasis in addressing the social, emotional and behavioral skills that are needed for success in traditional educational settings and for greatest independence after graduation.
How we help
WE BELIEVE EVERY INDIVIDUAL SHOULD BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE FULLY IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITY BY HAVING REASONABLE ACCESS TO NEEDED SERVICES.
-
Learn how we can help you understand our services, your benefits, rights, and options.
-
ABA is very specialized, and therefore an age-appropriate and thorough assessment is conducted by a BCBA to determine individualized needs best.
-
We will work with you on an appropriate schedule for services based on Insurance authorization and intensity of needs determined from assessments.
-
We strive to give each child the tools they need to be successful in their home, schools, and community.
WE ARE a multi-disciplinary team of professionals with experience in Special Education, Therapeutic Counseling, Social Skills, Dyslexia intervention and ABA classroom management. We are committed to assisting parents and students in developing tools and strategies needed to prepare for life beyond the school setting!
OUR PROGRAM is designed to build upon each student's individual strengths and minimize challenges in the areas of:
ATTENTION AND SENSORY DIFFICULTIES
SOCIAL SKILLS AND RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT
ACADEMICS
COMMUNICATION/LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL RESPONSES
SELF-ESTEEM AND SELF-HELP SKILLS
ORGANIZATION AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Our structure is unique because it is built upon understanding children who demonstrate behaviors that are often misunderstood are often at risk for negative disciplinary actions that may increase negative behaviors and poor social responses. We believe in EARLY INTERVENTION! When negative behaviors are left unresolved, it can lead to an increase in more severe behavioral difficulties often uncharacteristic to your child. These situations can also place them at risk for lowered academic performance, developing anxiety, depression, or other mental health related concerns. What’s really important is that when children are distressed, so are parents! We are here to partner with you and develop a pre-emptive plan for consistency, continuity, and generalization of new skills for desired outcomes at school, at home and in the community.
OUR PHILOSOPHY at Lake Pointe Academy is understanding every student learns in different ways. We believe each student has the ability to learn skills needed towards personal achievement and should be encouraged to each their fullest potential. We believe this occurs when the environment and curriculum is individually suited to their unique learning needs and built upon each student's individual strengths. This commitment is the foundation in our approach and development of our program. We accomplish this through maintaining a calm and nurturing environment, an Individualized Success Plan that implements systematic adjusted teaching strategies using evidence-based methodologies, within a carefully structured and predictable daily routine.

Being diagnosed with Autism and navigating through the school system has many challenges. Your child may not have been given the tools needed to thrive, as the resources weren’t available. We believe that by providing students with confidential, non-stigmatizing support both on a regular and as-needed basis, will help them not just thrive, but excel.
Our programs are data-driven program, grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and supported through naturalistic positive learning opportunities. Our students are not required to have a "label" or diagnosis.
